Poppy Making 6th June

The Market Hall Museum is hosting another poppy-making session on Wednesday 6th June for the World War One commemorative installation in St. Mary’s Church.

Between 1.30pm and 3.30pm you can have a go at knitting, crocheting or making felt poppies. If you can’t knit or crochet, friendly assistants will be on hand to show you how. Join in the fun, whatever your age and ability, and find out more about the Warwick Poppies 2018 Campaign.

In October, St. Mary’s will unveil a huge display of poppies made by organisations and individuals, to mark the centenary of the 1918 Armistice. The aim is to have at least one poppy for every member of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment who died in the Great War, that’s 11,610 from the county who did not return from the war.

There will be another poppy-making session at the museum on July 4th from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. The workshops are free to attend but donations are welcome; there’s no need to book. And for poppy-makers there’s 10% off in the museum cafe.
