Denis was born on 11th April, 1917 to parents John Jack (1888-1978) and Edith Newton nee Bradshaw.  The Newton’s were a well known Warwick family and John and Edith married there in Q3 1913.

1939 Register describes Denis as a “House Painter and Motor Car Driver” His father John is a House Painter – Edith is not living at the address so may have died prior to 1939. Our researchers have been unable to ascertain this with any certainty and would welcome any further information.

Dennis married Kathleen Lacey in Q1 1944 in Wednesbury.  Just over a year later, she was a widow.
